BMW accelerates production of components for electric motors
BMW Group is expanding its production capacity due to the growing demand for electrified cars.
The factory in Dingolfing, Germany, expects the number of modules needed to produce high-voltage batteries to double from the previous year. The number of required electric motors will also increase significantly. This requires specialists, so 800 new jobs will be created for the production of electrical components.
For subsequent releases and planned volume increases, qualified employees are now widely used – both domestic and foreign factories of the BMW Group.
The launch of the new plug-in hybrid models BMW 330e, BMW X5 xDrive45e and BMW X3 xDrive30e, as well as the full electric Mini Cooper model, brings the total number of electrified vehicles in the BMW Group portfolio to 12.
In 2020, they will add additional electrified models, such as the BMW x1 plug-in hybrid and the full electric BMW iX3, along with a long list of other new plug-in hybrid models.
BMW Group aims to expand its line of electrified cars to 25 models in 2023.
